The Project Team is interdisciplinary: philosophers, germanists, theologians and historians from the humanities participate.

  • Project Manager – RAIVIS BIČEVSKIS (raivis.bicevskis@lu.lv), PhD, is the Head of the Department of Philosophy and Ethics at the Faculty of History and Philosophy of University of Latvia, the Professor of 18.-20th century history of philosophy and Philosophical Anthropology, leading researcher at Institute for Philosophy and Sociology, at 2024 – Tenured Professor for Social Philosophy and Chairman of Faculty for Humanities. He has been leading and participating in several international and interdisciplinary research projects since 2013 (“Baltisch-deutsche Kulturbeziehungen vom 16. bis 19. Jahrhundert: Medien – Institutionen – Acteure” project funded by the Heidelberg Academy of Sciences; ERASMUS + project EM and ME, organized several international conferences (2014, 2015, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2022). Received awards from LAS and Academia Scientiarum et Artium Europeae (Salzburg) for high quality research results. Visiting Professor at the Vidzeme University of Applied Sciences (Valmiera, Latvia), universities of Bordeaux (France), Potsdam (Germany) and Innsbruck (Austria), Athens (Greece) (2017, 2018, 2018, 2019, 2022). Member of the Board of the Central and Eastern European Society for Phenomenology (CEESP). Member of the FORTHEM Steering Group at the University of LU and member of the “Diversity and Migration” Lab international work group. Member and manager of SRP subproject WG (SRP 6.1 Language Ontology) and manager of CLS project “Institutum Herderianum Rigenis (HeInRi)”. Research interests relate to the constellation of science, philosophy and culture in the Baltics in the late 18th century, to the intellectual heritage of the Baltic Germans, to the study of 20th century philosophy and to the genesis of modern science. Supervises 4 doctoral dissertations that directly or indirectly deal with the project topics. There is a strong research interest in transferring and developing project results into new research projects.

  • STUDENTS (DANIELA ZĀLĪTE, MATĪSS RIHARDS VILCĀNS, DĀVIS KASPARS SPROĢIS) who will be selected immediately after the announcement of the results of the funding competition; within the framework of the project Team will carry out technical work, participate in the organization of conferences, website development and management, organization of informative events, elaborate theses of his / her Master based on the results of the project, will prepare for PhD studies.
